AIG to Acquire Glatfelter Insurance Group

American International Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Glatfelter Insurance Group, a full-service broker and insurance company based in York, Pennsylvania. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1951, Glatfelter’s operations include about 3,000 brokers serving roughly 30,000 insureds in the U.S. and Canada.
