Paving Contractor Accused of Operating without Insurance

A Vancouver man who admitted to operating a road-paving business after his workers' compensation coverage was canceled faces one felony charge of operating without insurance in addition to six misdemeanor charges of illegal contracting, according to the Washington state Department of Labor & Industries. Salvador Rodriguez, 44, is also charged with a single felony count of failing to report or pay workers' compensation premiums. Rodriguez registered his Chava Paving company with L&I in 2005.
