In a 4-1 decision, the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals affirmed a Board of Review order denying a clerk who was injured during a workplace assault 30 weeks of permanent disability benefits.

Facts: Janet L. Richardson was attacked at work on Aug. 29, 2011. The attacker repeatedly shoved her against a metal sink. Although she had a significant bruise, X-rays did not show any fractures. A treating physician released her to return to work without restrictions five days after the assault.
