A Holland, Ohio, battery manufacturer faces up to $61,600 in penalties for exposing its workers to lead, according to a press release from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
During a follow-up inspection in November of last year, OSHA found that workers at the Johnson Controls Battery Group, which manufactures wet and dry batteries, failed to conduct monitoring for lead exposure with employees who had worked 12-hour shifts, according to OSHA.
