The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will hold a public hearing today on a proposed rule that would provide that reimbursement requests submitted by physicians of record for non-emergency services after treatment is rendered will be reimbursed at 75% of the fee schedule amount.The new rule 4123-6-16.3 would also prohibit the treating physician from billing the injured worker for the balance of the fee.The BWC said in a summary that it is proposing the rule to help manage treatment in workers' compensation claims and achieve optimal return-to-work outcomes.
