The California Senate selected California Labor Federation lobbyist Mitch Steiger to serve on the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation.
Steiger will fill the vacancy created by Angie Wei, legislative director for the California Labor Federation, who joined the administration of Gov. Gavin Newsom as chief deputy cabinet secretary in February. Wei was the Senate’s recurring appointee to represent labor on the eight-member advisory panel since 2005.
