All 118 members of the Illinois House of Representatives will gather today for a rare Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss changes to the state’s workers’ compensation laws, a countermove made by Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan against the governor’s efforts to cut workers’ compensation costs.
Gov. Bruce Rauner has proposed a number of contentious changes to the state’s workers’ compensation system through his "Turnaround Agenda," which includes changing the causation statute and reducing medical fees.
