By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefTwo medical providers have learned the hard way that California workers’ compensation judges will not hesitate to dismiss liens when there is no proof that the $100 activation fee has been paid.Senate Bill 863 instituted a $150 fee for all liens filed after Jan. 1, 2013, and a $100 “activation fee” on liens that have already been filed.
