About 71% of Oregon’s workers’ compensation claims for exposure to COVID-19 have been approved, according to numbers provided by the state Workers’ Compensation Division and Northwest Workers’ Justice Project.
Health care workers have accounted for at least four out of every five claims, and approximately eight out of every nine claims have been filed against private employers, according to the data.
Oregon’s SAIF Corp., the largest workers’ compensation carrier in the state, has handled about 75% of all claims.
