Queens Chiropractor Accused of Billing Insurer for Phony Injuries

A chiropractor with a practice in Queens, N.Y., has been charged with insurance fraud based on allegations he convinced an individual he thought was a patient to fake injuries in order to bill an insurance company for more than $26,000, The North Country Gazette reported Tuesday.The newspaper said the patient was actually an undercover investigator who received a $1,000 kickback for participating in the three-month billing scheme.The newspaper said Anthony Latona, 50, who practices in Woodhaven, Queens, was arrested Monday night and appeared in Queens Criminal Court on charges of third-degree ...
