Thirty-five compensable worker fatalities occurred in Oregon last year, including seven among logging workers, according to the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services.
Six compensable deaths occurred among workers in truck transportation, DCBS reported, and another four each in construction and manufacturing. The figures are considered preliminary and are current as of Wednesday.
DCBS defined compensable fatalities as claims accepted by insurers that involve a fatal occupational injury or disease that entitles workers or survivors to compensation.
