Lawmakers in Washington state passed a bill that would specify that self-insured employers and their private-sector counterparts that employ firefighters owe a duty of good faith and fair dealing with regard to workers’ compensation issues.
The Senate on Thursday voted 29-19 to pass House Bill 1521, by Rep. Dan Bronoske, D-Lakewood. The state House of Representatives voted 69-27 to pass the bill March 1.
