Quinn Appoints Acting Head of Insurance Department

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced Friday that Department of Insurance Chief Deputy Director Jack Messmore will serve as the agency’s acting director.Messmore's appointment was effective Monday.Messmore took over as head of the department with the departure of Michael McRaith, who left to become the first director of the United States Federal Insurance Office.Messmore has been with the agency for 25 years and has served previously as deputy director, assistant deputy director and examiner-in-charge.Messmore received an accounting degree from Eastern Illinois University and is a member...
