Washington lawmakers are proposing a number of revisions to how wages are calculated in order to determine benefits owed to injured workers.
Senate Bill 5217, introduced by Sen. Karen Keiser, D-Kent, on Wednesday declares the desire of the Legislature to ensure that wages are calculated in a fair and reasonable manner so as to accurately reflect an injured worker’s lost earning capacity.
The bill would require calculating wages separately for those who have more than one employer at the time of injury, and combining the results to determine indemnity owed to an injured worker....
