The California Senate passed a bill that would describe factors doctors must consider when assigning impairment ratings in occupational breast cancer cases.
The Senate on Tuesday voted 37-0 to pass AB 479, by Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, D-San Diego.
AB 479 would require doctors tasked with determining the impairment caused by occupational breast cancer account for:
The presence or absence of the organ.
Any loss of function of the upper extremity or extremities.
Skin disfigurement.
Pain.
