Lawmakers Reconsidering Firefighter Cancer Presumption Law

Pennsylvania lawmakers are reviewing a 2011 cancer-presumption law for firefighters amid reports that volunteer fire departments are struggling to get workers' compensation coverage, The Citizens' Voice of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., reported.The newspaper said the state House Veteran Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee held a hearing last week to review reports that private insurers are canceling policies for volunteer fire departments.
