The former head of Oregon's SAIF Corp. said a lawsuit accusing her of improperly influencing her past employer to fire her successor is a strategic lawsuit against public participation that results in suppressing her right to constitutionally-protected speech and she should be dismissed from the claim.
John Plotkin says his predecessor Brenda Rocklin conspired with other executives at SAIF as well as members of the carrier's board of directors to orchestrate his ouster after only three months as chief executive officer. Plotkin took over for Rocklin in February and was fired in May.
