The North Carolina Industrial Commission has abandoned plans to establish a drug formulary to aid in the fight against opioid abuse.
“The commission will not be pursuing a drug formulary at this time, absent clear direction from the General Assembly,” emailed Kendall M. Bourdon, the agency’s rule-making coordinator and legislative liaison.
The commission did not respond to questions of why it had dumped the formulary.
Last June, the agency heard formulary pitches from Official Disability Guidelines, Reed Group and the State of Washington.
