Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Katharine Wade is resigning, effective Wednesday, her office confirmed, as Governor-elect Ned Lamont prepares to take office on Jan. 9.
Life & Health Director Paul Lombardo will serve as acting commissioner until Lamont names a replacement.
Current Gov. Dannel Malloy appointed Wade as the state’s 32nd insurance commissioner in March 2015. Malloy opted not to seek a third term as governor in the 2018 election.
Like Malloy, Lamont is a Democrat.
