Polk County Busts 'Pill Mill'

Detectives in Polk County, Fla., announced the bust Wednesday of a Florida "pill mill," the related arrest of five people and the seizure of 12,000 oxycodone pills.The Orlando Sentinel reported that an eight-month investigation focused on Key Medical Clinic, of Winter Haven, Fla. The Polk County Sheriff's Department said the clinic operated as a pill mill and hired hundreds of people to fill phony prescriptions.The prescriptions were primarily for oxycodone, an opioid pain killer, and the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam.
