A California lawmaker introduced legislation that would require employers to ensure that some workers who test positive for COVID-19 are excluded from the workplace for at least 10 days under the threat of civil fines for safety violations.
Employers would be required to continue paying wages and benefits to those excluded from the workplace under terms of Assembly Bill 3106 unless the employees file a workers’ compensation claim for which they receive temporary disability benefits.
