Nine Charged or Plead Guilty to Fraud in April, according to BWC

A special investigation done by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation resulted in nine people that either pleaded to or were charged with defrauding the state’s workers’ compensation system, according to a release from the BWC.  In a sampling of cases, over $80,000 will be paid back by those that pleaded guilty and some will serve up to six months in jail.  In one of the cases, the BWC’s Special Investigations Unit found that Gregory Oakes, from Vienna, Trumball County, pleaded guilty to five counts of felony forgery, six counts of tampering wit...
