The owner of a Queens, N.Y., drywall construction company has been charged with falsifying business records to lower premiums owed to the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF), the state-run insurer said last week.NYSIF said Francisco Bites, 49, of Elmhurst, N.Y., was charged with grand larceny, insurance fraud, falsifying business records and two counts of violating the New York State Workers' Compensation Law.He was arrested on Nov. 19 in connection with business records he submitted during two consecutive audits on behalf of Parana Taping, NYSIF said.NYSIF said Brites understated his co...
