A California lawmaker introduced a bill to create a single-payer health care system and once again the proposal would task an advisory board with figuring out how to handle occupational illnesses and injuries.
AB 2200, introduced by Assemblymember Ash Kalra, D-San Jose, would create the California Guaranteed Health Care for All program, or CalCare, to provide universal, single-payer health care coverage for state residents.
