Senate action on a bill to deny compensation to workers who test positive for alcohol or nonprescribed drugs has been delayed until next week.
Senate Bill 290, by Sen. Dave Schatz, R-Sullivan, was originally scheduled to be heard on the Senate floor Tuesday.
The bill would override a law that allows a worker who tests positive for nonprescribed drugs or alcohol to collect 50% of the workers' compensation benefits available to him.
