The New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation is proposing to increase the maximum benefits for 2024 by 2.9% because of a corresponding increase in the state’s average weekly wage.
Work comp benefits are capped at 75% of the average weekly wages covered by unemployment law.
The division published a notice in the New Jersey Register Tuesday saying the 2024 maximum benefit will increase to $1,131 from $1,099.
The DWC is accepting public comments on the proposed benefit increase for 60 days. Comments are due by Nov. 4.
