The Pennsylvania General Assembly has agreed to move $145 million from the cash-rich Workers' Compensation Security Fund to a program that would help rescue the state's hospitality industry.
The House of Representatives on Friday voted 202-0 to transfer the money, one week after the Senate passed the bill, SB 109. Gov. Tom Wolf had requested the distribution in order to provide grants to small businesses suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic slowdown.
