Both chambers of the Utah Legislature approved a bill that would allow the Division of Industrial Accidents to waive or reduce some penalties assessed to employers operating without workers’ compensation insurance. Illegally uninsured employers in Utah face a penalty equal to the greater of $1,000 or three times the premiums they would have paid had they purchased comp coverage. Senate Bill 75, by Sen.
