Attorneys allegedly billing clients for work they didn’t do and physicians billing for services they might not have performed are among the most recent comp fraud trends in the Lone Star State, a panel of investigators said Wednesday during the Texas Department of Insurance Workers’ Compensation Conference.
“As far as this year is concerned, the bulk of my caseload has been spent on attorney fee fraud cases,” said Donna Crosby, a prosecutor with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office who specializes in insurance fraud cases.
