Court Rules Repackager Has Standing in Collection Disputes

The Florida 1st District Court of Appeal last week revived 35 claims by a Miramar-based drug repackager demanding reimbursement for the cost of prescription medications dispensed to injured workers by doctors with whom it had contracts.The court ruled that Prescription Partners LLC had standing to dispute an employer or carrier's disallowance of the claims, since it had obtained an assignment of collection rights from each of the doctors qualifying as a "party" to the payment disputes under Florida Statutes Section 120.52(13).Thursday's decision in Prescription Partners v. the State of...
