Zenith Reports $19M in Net Income as Investment Results Improve

Zenith National Insurance Corp. on Tuesday reported third quarter net income of $19.2, up from $16.6 million in the same quarter last year.The Woodland Hills, Calif.-based carrier said its net income for the nine months ended Sept. 30 was $23.6 million, compared to net income of $86.9 million for the first nine months of 2008.Most of that third-quarter profit came from a rebounding stock market.
