A beef processing plant in Hastings, Nebraska, has received federal safety citations after a worker was severely burned by industrial gas.
Noah’s Ark Processors LLC faces proposed penalties of $182,926 in connection with the citations, which the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued on Friday. The company has 15 business days to contest the citations.
According to OSHA, one of the company’s employees suffered severe burns caused by exposure to anhydrous ammonia, a gas used as an industrial refrigerant.
