Obesity, smoking and telecommuting are now some of the biggest workers' compensation worries for employers, according to Fred Hubbs, a partner in the law firm Hall Booth Smith, P.C., who spoke at RIMS 2015 last week.
Hubbs called on employers to make drastic changes in their monitoring of employees, especially in cases of telecommuting since Congress enacted the Telework Enhancement Act requiring companies to establish policies for workers who are remote.
