Idaho Gov. Butch Otter on Thursday used his line-item veto power to squash a $3 million raid on an Industrial Commission fund and signed into law a bill lowering the maximum tax rate for the same fund to 2%.
Otter approved Senate Bill 1192, a bill by the Senate Finance Committee appropriating money from the General Fund to the Labor Department. However, he struck from the bill a section that would have transferred $3 million from the Industrial Administration Fund to the Workforce Development Training Fund.
