Wisconsin had the highest injury rate among Midwestern states in 2018 while Illinois had the lowest, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said in a new report.
The annual report looked at nine Midwestern states and found little change from the previous year. In both 2017 and 2018, Wisconsin had an incident rate of 3.6 cases per 100 full-time employees in the private sector. Illinois had 2.6 cases in 2017 and 2.7 in 2018.
In both years, Nebraska ranked second highest in the Midwest. Data was not available for North Dakota and South Dakota.
