Richard C. Goff, past chairman of the Self-Insurance Institute of America, passed away on Saturday at the age of 69 after suffering a heart attack.
Goff had been battling health problems since he was in a home accident, according to a statement from the institute. He was president and chairman of SIIA from 2008-2009 and worked to broaden the scope of the organization to include alternative risk transfer. At the time of his death he was the director of the Self-Insurance Educational Foundation.
