Lawmaker Proposes 5-Year Cap on TD Duration

Washington would join 23 other states that have implemented hard caps on the amount of time an injured worker can collect temporary disability benefits under a pair of bills filed in advance of the 2016 legislative session. Washington state workers currently get temporary disability benefits until they either return to work, receive an unrestricted release from the treating physician or are deemed "employable" by a vocational assessment.
