The U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals this week ruled that a Georgia employer could not be compelled to submit to an inspection after a worker suffered an electric shock injury.
A Mar-Jac Poultry worker was injured in February 2016 while attempting to repair an electrical panel using a non-insulated screwdriver. The worker produced an arc flash, which resulted in severe burns to the hand and face.
Mar-Jac reported the accident to the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration the day after it happened.
