Republic Steel is facing $279,578 in proposed penalties from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for allegedly exposing workers at its plant in Canton, Ohio, to machine hazards and lead.
OSHA issued citations last week for two repeated and five serious safety violations to the company, a leading North American supplier of steel for automotive and industrial use. Republic has 15 business days to contest the citations.
