A city official in California’s Bay Area who was criticized for setting up a restaurant while on medical leave and later fired by his agency has filed a workers’ compensation claim for work-related stress, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.The Chronicle reported that Henry Alvarez, former executive director of the San Francisco Housing Authority, filed a workers’ compensation claim on April 26 alleging that he was injured on Jan. 29.The alleged date of injury is four days after Alzarez requested a leave of absence for personal reasons.
