The Travelers Companies Inc. on Thursday reported net income of $866 million for the quarter ending Dec. 31, a 16.5% decrease from net income in the prior year’s quarter of $1.038 billion.
Net income for calendar year 2015 was $3.439 billion, down 7.3% from net income of $3.692 billion in 2014.
Net written premium held steady for the fourth quarter, at $5.864 billion in 2015 compared to $5.836 in the prior year’s quarter. Net written premium for full-year 2015 reached a record of $24.121 billion, a 1% increase from 2014.
