A pair of bills introduced in the New Jersey Legislature would increase the maximum fee owed to evaluating physicians for producing an opinion regarding the need for medical treatment or an estimation of permanent disability.
S3309, introduced Nov. 3, and A4832, introduced Oct. 27, would both increase the evaluating physician fee to $1,000 from $600.
The Senate measure also includes language that would expand circumstances under which physician legal fees are allowed.
