The operator of a beef processing plant in Hastings pleaded no contest to three counts of failure to file a required injury report, Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson announced.
Noah’s Ark, headquartered in New Jersey, failed to report injuries to the Workers’ Compensation Court to avoid increased insurance premiums, Peterson said in a statement. As a result, injured workers could not claim rights under the Workers’ Compensation Act.
The company was fined $3,000.
