1st DCA Denies City's Challenge to Compensable Weightlifting Injury

The California 1st District Court of Appeal declined to review a decision granting benefits to a police officer who was injured while weightlifting. The appellate court denied the City of Oakland's petition for a writ of review in the case of City of Oakland v. WCAB (Kroushour) on Monday. The workers' compensation judge on the case ruled that Joseph Kroushour's left shoulder injury arose out of and in the course of employment.
