The Division of Workers’ Compensation says it will audit designated doctors who frequently conduct additional testing as part of their examinations, or refer injured workers to other providers for more tests.
The agency on Friday released its finalized Designated Doctor Plan-Based Audit to ensure that the program remains “cost-effective.”
Designated doctors eligible for selection are those who examined injured workers between Jan. 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017, and performed at least 25 exams that are not pending in the dispute-resolution process.
