Fraud, Out-of-State Coverage and Drayage Bills Amended

The chairman of the California Assembly Insurance Committee eliminated contentious language relating to privacy laws from a fraud-fighting bill and attempted to further clarify conditions in which police officers can be covered for injuries occurring outside of the state. At the same time, a state senator on Monday amended a bill that would hold customers liable for labor law violations when they contract with port drayage firms that have a documented history of not paying penalties for prior violations.
