Co-prescribing of opioid antidote naloxone for injured workers taking opioids increased last year, according to a drug trends report from Coventry.
Among claims that included opioids at daily doses of 50 milligrams morphine equivalents, naloxone was prescribed in 1.8% of cases, almost double the figure from 2017, Coventry said. The data came from Coventry’s First Script pharmacy benefit management program.
