The Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee voted 8-0 on Tuesday to favorably report a bill that would compensate first responders for lost wages for mental injuries without corresponding physical injuries, commonly called “mental-mental” claims.
Under Senate Bill 376, first responders would only need to show that their mental injuries were work-related through a “preponderance of the evidence.”
