An impending update to a medical diagnosis coding system is likely to add complexity to workers’ comp billing, but it could also bring what some consider welcome improvements, including new classifications for chronic pain. The World Health Organization announced last month that its members had agreed to adopt the 11th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.
