New Mexico lawmakers sent to Gov. Susana Martinez a bill that would prohibit workers fired for misconduct from receiving temporary disability benefits and prohibit the use of modifiers to increase permanent disability awards when a person refuses a return-to-work offer.
The House of Representatives on Thursday voted 65-0 to pass Senate Bill 155, by Sen. Jacob Candelaria, D-Albuquerque. The Senate passed the bill 32-8 on Feb. 28.
